Inspired by her Salvadoran roots, Claudia creates her “Mijas” illustrations to represent different skin tones, hairstyles, and cultural backgrounds. Her work also highlights social issues, including her collaboration with CHIRLA (CHIRLA – The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights) on creating stickers: Immigrant Power, I welcome Immigrants, and Keep Families Together.

Ivan Salazar

Ivan Salazar is a committed professional with a passion for connecting the tech industry with the Los Angeles community. As the Senior Manager of Innovation at LA-Tech.org, he oversees pilot programs, such as the Rising Internship, held throughout the year, and helps establish an apprenticeship model. Ivan has reviewed over 1,000 internship applications, contributing to a 90% retention rate for interns. He also facilitates internship placements with partner employers, supporting emerging talent.
Prior to this, Ivan served as a Program Manager at City Year Los Angeles, where he supervised AmeriCorps Members in driving educational programming for middle school students. As an Inclusion Specialist at Bright Star Schools, he guided over 50 high school students in creating personalized roadmaps to stay on track for graduation and transition to college. Ivan volunteered as a Community Program Manager with SOMOS.Tech and as a mentor with Heart of Los Angeles.

In this capacity, Ngo is tasked with developing and executing strategies to create additional revenue generating opportunities for Legendary IPs across film, television and digital. This includes overseeing Interactive, Location Based Entertainment, Consumer Products and Promotions & Partnerships activities globally while managing relationships with 3 rd party IP holders like Toho, Capcom, Bandai, Herbert Properties LLC and others. During his tenure, Ngo has rolled out major 360 programs for the Monsterverse, Pacific Rim, Pokemon Detective Pikachu and building the Dune franchise from the ground up.
Prior to joining Legendary, Ngo spent nearly a decade in various roles at Fremantle, overseeing the licensing and branding strategies for some of the biggest television properties in the world including American Idol, America’s Got Talent, X-Factor, The Price Is Right and Family Feud. Through his work at Fremantle, Ngo forged enduring relationships with world-class licensees and retailers across all major categories including toys, fashion & apparel, home, beauty, food, publishing and gaming. Hi! My name is Juliamarie Gutierrez. I am currently studying Communication Design at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) with a minor in Interactive Marketing. I found my career path when I was enrolled in the Architecture, Digital Design, and Filmmaking (ADDF) Magnet at John F. Kennedy High School. That is where I found my passion for graphic design, and it encouraged me to pursue a design degree at CSUN. As a student, I have completed an internship with LA-Tech that was in collaboration with BMW Designworks, and am currently working as a Graphic Designer at the University Student Union (USU) on campus.

Liesel Plambeck is a multidisciplinary designer and artist whose work spans surface design, graphic design, and fine art. She began her career in-house for leading fashion and interior design brands before establishing her own independent practice, which she has grown over the past eight years. She is the founder of Magnolia Studio, a print and surface design studio, and most recently, Ceremony Studios, a creative studio launched this year that focuses on brand identity, creative direction, and branded content. Alongside her design work, Liesel maintains a deeply rooted fine art practice as a painter and printmaker.

Hi, I’m Riley Cunanan! I’m a senior communication design student at CSUN, and I aspire to be a brand strategist, and I also dabble in illustration. Since I was a kid, I always loved two things: creating and communication. People who knew me when I was a young girl often tell me two things: I was always drawing, and always talking! Ever since that age, I was eager to express ideas to others: whether it was through visuals or through words.Through the years, I’ve dabbled in many creative hobbies and opportunities: learning crochet and knitting over the pandemic, and taking design classes in branding, UX/UI, and entertainment during college.I’ve also had the opportunity to work in various creative strategy fields through my current position in IXLA: leading branding strategy workshops with clients, coordinating teams to develop visuals that align with client’s stories and intentions, and auditing websites to restructure them with enhanced accessibility.I aspire to use my passion for communication and creativity to empathize with clients and audiences, telling stories across touch points that connect people with the resources and services they need.

Dr. Sevetlana Pirjan serves as the Director of College Advising for the Mike Curb College of Arts, Media, and Communication (MCCAMC) Student Services Center/EOP Satellite at California State University, Northridge. With more than 20 years of experience in higher education, she leads initiatives that promote student success, equity, and engagement across the university. A dedicated educator and mentor, Dr. Pirjan also teaches CSUN’s Transfer Seminar course, helping new transfer students navigate their transition, build community, and thrive academically. Her work reflects a deep commitment to inclusive advising and empowering students to reach their fullest potential.
Dr. Pirjan earned her B.A. in Art and two master’s degrees in Educational Leadership & Policy and Communication Studies from CSUN and holds a Doctor of Education from Pepperdine University.

I believe graphic design can do more than sell—it can affirm life, preserve memory, and connect people. S. K. Ramesh has almost four decades of experience as a Professor of Electrical Engineering, department chair and dean in the CSU system beginning his career at Sacramento State in 1987 before moving to CSUN in 2006. At CSUN he founded the nationally recognized AIMS2 program (2011-22), and the SfS2 program (2023-28) at CSU Northridge to champion student success with support from several grants from the US Department of Education. He is an IEEE Fellow recognized for contributions to entrepreneurship in Engineering Education , and Past President of ABET, the global accreditation organization for programs in engineering, technology, computing and STEM disciplines. He received his B.E. (Honors) degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Madras, and his M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.

Tom Sito is an animator and animation historian. He teaches animation at the University of Southern California. Awarded the June Foray Award (2011) from ASIFA/Hollywood. He has lectured on animation around the world and served as president of The Animation Guild Local 839 Hollywood. He was on the Board of Governors of the Motion Picture Academy, and an adviser on The Academy Museum of the Motion Picture.
His movie credits include Walt Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (1991), The Lion King (1994), Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), The Little Mermaid (1989), Aladdin (1992).
